Cahiers is a journal seeking original and significant new research made by experienced and young scholars.
Manuscripts for consideration should be prepared according to the following guidelines:
Submitted in an electronic copy to cahiers8@unipoptorino.it – sent as a Word document (preferred version *.doc 97-2003) in an email attachment, not a PDF
Length: We welcome manuscripts of approximately 30,000-40,000 characters including spaces with footnotes. Please indicate the word count (with and without notes) on the cover page of the manuscript.
Tables and figures should be also sent in a separate file in .PDF.
Images: If black and white images are an essential component of the manuscript, we are happy to include them. We have a limited number of colour images. A resolution of at least 1200 dpi for black and white images is strongly preferred. Do not place image files in your text document. It is your responsibility to secure any needed permissions to Cahiers. Please contact permission holders before you first submit your article.
Cover page: a cover page is mandatory and it should be sent in a separate file. It should include the author’s name, affiliation, contact information (electronic and full postal address), manuscript length
Abstract and keywords: a brief abstract (700-800 characters) in English of the paper and a biographic note (300 characters) also in English. Include up to 5 keywords.
Notes: submitted manuscripts must use Chicago Manual of Style footnotes (no bibliography).
Manuscript should be “spell checked” and “grammar checked”.
First Editorial Evaluation. The Editorial Staff checks that the submitted manuscript complies with all the relevant style and formatting guidelines and adhere to all the requirements.
Scientific Director Assessment. The Scientific Director validates the submission by evaluating the quality and the originality of the manuscript.
The Review Stage. Manuscripts in anonymity for the Review Section will be sent to academics, experts, scientists. The identity of the reviewers will not be disclosed. This process is aiming at evaluating the quality, the originality, the robustness of a manuscript for publication. The key point of this approach is the safeguard of the academic research integrity and the improvement of the paper quality.
Final Steps. The author modifies the paper according to the suggestions in one week time and returns it with a letter “Liberatoria” about the manuscript, the permission and the copyright. Once the manuscript is ready in its final form it is sent to the production.
We begin editing issues about six months before they are published. There are two deadlines to send manuscripts every year: on February 15th and on September 15th. Cahiers is edited every June and December.
We cannot consider materials that are being considered for publication elsewhere or have been published previously in any form, including electronic. Manuscripts accepted by Cahiers and its final version cannot be places on any website, platform or scholarly network without permission from the Universita Popolare di Torino.
If you have questions, you may write to the editor cahiers8@unipoptorino.it. We look forward to working with you and to seeing your article in Cahiers. Thank you!
